Listening, Learning, Launching: How Dara Meets Users’ Needs

Medical transportation and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software can often feel static, interchangeable, and highly commoditized. Add in the regulatory and data privacy constraints of healthcare, and most platforms begin to blur together. When differentiation is difficult, the products that stand out are the ones that truly meet users’ ever-changing needs.
Dara, DocGo’s comprehensive SaaS platform for medical transport management, has emerged as a leader both through its robust feature set and its commitment to continuous improvement driven by real-world feedback.
“With most platforms, what you see is what you get. They might change the UI (User Interface) or fix design issues, but Dara evolves because we’re always talking with our users to develop new features. We’re relentless about how to enhance the product,” said Matt Koslosky, Director of Business Development at DocGo.
Continuous Innovation, Grounded in Customer Needs
Today, Dara’s end-to-end platform is transforming how health systems manage medical transport, enabling unified online ordering across vendors, real-time SMS/email updates, and a centralized dashboard that informs smarter patient flow decisions. But what sets Dara apart is more than listening to users. It’s how quickly the development team adapts the platform.
Risat Haque, DocGo’s Product Manager, leads a team that prioritizes user input in every sprint. “We operate on bi-weekly releases and review the plan for our product enhancements quarterly. Each quarter has a clear theme. This quarter, it’s all about improving transparency and satisfaction for health system users,” he explained.
Smarter Filters and Faster Results
A prime example of this approach is Dara’s new Filters & Search experience that was launched in Q2 2025. After extensive beta testing and feedback loops via surveys, roundtables, and live user check-ins, the team introduced major improvements to how trips can be found and managed in dispatcher and facility users’ dashboards. A key outcome was an 86% improvement in search speed for users, saving an estimated 52 hours per month across all DocGo user markets.
User data also revealed which filters matter most (e.g. status, requesting facility, and service level) allowing the product team to design more flexible filtering options for different operational styles. Per Haque, the new filtering and search experience makes it quicker than ever to find trips using Trip ID, patient name, and a whole lineup of advanced filters.
“The new filters are designed with accessibility in mind, aligning with recognized standards to ensure a more inclusive experience. That’s the direction healthcare technology needs to take – faster, smarter, and more inclusive,” he said.
Standardizing Documentation
Another standout feature that was recently released: the workflow for Electronic PCS (Physician Certification Statement), a document required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) that certifies medical necessity for patient transport services. Unlike other platforms that rely on document uploads, Dara has implemented a templated, standardized PCS form modeled after the most widely accepted format in the ambulance industry, with backing from legal standards bodies like Page Wolfberg & Wirth (PWW).
Amanda Shell Jennings, Associate Vice President of Marketing at DocGo, highlighted its strategic value: “For hospital administrators and vendors alike, that standardization gives people comfort. It’s reliable, recognizable, and ensures required medical necessity paperwork is complete to maximize reimbursement from transportation.”
The Future of Dara: Iterative, Agile, and Always Listening
Whether it’s upgrading search filters, redesigning dashboards, or rethinking how forms are submitted and shared, Dara’s team continues to prove that user-driven development is the foundation of a robust healthcare SaaS solution.
