Mobile Healthcare
For more than two decades, Tony Cambone has learned, led, taught and innovated as an EMS professional. From running one of the largest EMS schools in Florida to teaching in the UK and Guam, his journey brought him to New York City, where he now serves as DocGo’s Director of Business Intelligence. We spoke with Tony about what a career in EMS has meant to him and how those experiences continue to shape his work today.
In this joint op-ed, Dr. Stephen Klasko, former CEO of Jefferson Health, and Lee Bienstock, CEO of DocGo, argue that the pandemic proved healthcare could be delivered differently: virtually, at home, and with fewer bureaucratic barriers. Five years later, many of those gains have been rolled back, even as hospitals struggle to survive. They call for bold action, including a federal healthcare commission, to make virtual care standard, reward prevention over procedures, ensure real price transparency, and use AI to give clinicians time back. The choice is clear: cling to a failing status quo or embrace lasting transformation.
